    Paundraka Challenges Krishna

Paundraka was the king of the Karusa province. He was very vain and thought himself to be the most powerful man in the universe.

One day, the king sent his messenger to Krishna. The messenger read out, "Krishna, give up your false pretence of being a god because I'm the supreme power. Come and surrender to me or else I shall kill you."

Paundraka and KrishnaEveryone was started to hear this. Krishna patiently listened and then replied, "Tell your master that I called him a foolish person. He has unknowingly challenged me. I shall destroy him."

Being threatened this way Paundraka, together with his friend, the king of Kasi attacked Krishna. At the battlefield Krishna said, "You had asked me to give my divine symbols to you. So here it is." Saying this, Krishna flung his divine weapon, the Sudarshan Chakra, at Paundraka and cut off his head and killed him.
